The Ohio Off Highway Motorcycle Association (OOHMA) is an entirely volunteer-operated non-profit created by riders, for riders.

Our mission is simple: to support the recreational interests of off-highway motorcyclists in Ohio. We support efforts to expand trail access and other riding opportunities for off-highway motorcyclists while improving and preserving existing experiences.

Your membership is what makes this mission possible. Every rider who joins OOHMA strengthens our voice, helping us protect existing riding areas, open new ones, and keep two wheel access alive in Ohio.

The Ohio Off Highway Motorcycle Association (OOHMA) is a non-profit with the mission to support the recreational interests of off-highway motorcyclists in Ohio. The organization supports efforts to expand trail access and other riding opportunities for off-highway motorcyclists while improving and preserving existing experiences. The organization aims to educate riders on safe and responsible off-highway motorcycling practices and provides opportunities for riders to connect with fellow off-highway motorcyclists for social and mission-focused efforts.

Ohio has limited legal riding opportunities for off-highway motorcyclists to utilize. Without organized advocacy, existing trails are vulnerable to closure and new trails rarely get approved. OOHMA gives riders a unified voice in our state to ensure the community is represented where decisions are made.

Membership funds may be utilized to cover costs associated with establishing and operating the non-profit. Even though it is entirely volunteer-operated, there are still expenses, such as a website, membership platforms, etc.

Funds can also be used towards trail advocacy efforts, on-the-ground trail maintenance and more.

The organization's mission is specifically focused on opportunities for off-highway motorcyclists. While OHVs like ATVs and UTVs are important to Ohio, OOHMA exists to protect spaces built for riders on two wheels.

OOHMA works with state and federal land managers, trail crews, volunteers, and landowners to help maintain and advocate for the development of sustainable single-track trails.

The organization can help landowners explore the possibility of opening their property for public riding and provide guidance on access, safety, liability, sustainability and best practices.

The non-profit operates statewide across Ohio wherever dirtbike access exists or is being proposed. The organization consults with both state managed land through State Forest and federally managed public lands through Wayne National Forest.

No. OOHMA is an independent non-profit. However, we work collaboratively with agencies like the U.S. Forest Service, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and local governments to protect and expand riding opportunities for off-highway motorcyclists.

You can volunteer for trail maintenance days, attend public meetings, support landowner partnerships, help spread awareness, and assist with events and fundraising. Every rider has something to contribute.
